Garden Design Packages
To completely transform a garden will cost thousands of pounds. Knowing what it will look like and how it will be built is essential to ensure budgets are optimised and you can be confident in getting a garden you are proud of and will want to be in.
Professional design services are the subsoil from which a successful garden is created and grown.
In my experience over the last few years, gardens are costing from around £20,000 to build and plant. Therefore investing approximately 5% to 20% of the cost to create the garden, is highly recommended.
Based on our conversations during the initial design meeting, I identify which services are going to solve your issues and take you forward, then I offer bespoke fee options to align with your circumstances and the outcome you want.

DECIDUOUS
Garden concepts which include sketch drawings, rough ideas and mood board to enable you to see the possibilities for the layout, style and feel of the garden. There is no detail or specific planting suggestions in this package but it will include a list of the existing plants and trees in the garden that can be kept; either in situ or relocated. . A good choice if you just want some initial ideas to take forward yourselves.

SEMI-EVERGREEN
Deciduous package plus a final scaled design in CAD with more detail and suggestions for materials, planting, edging etc. A good choice if you are ready to have a Final design drawn up but are then happy to take the design to a landscaper for them to make final construction and budgetary decisions with you directly.

EVERGREEN
A full design package which follows on from Deciduous and Semi-Evergreen to include; technical drawings, measurements, setting out plans, works schedule and specification documents for a landscaper. This package takes any decision making out of the hands of a landscaper so that you get the garden as it was intended.

Planting Plan
A planting plan gives the specific plant, it’s location and size that I would suggest for your garden or individual bed. Using the principle of ‘right plant, right place’ to ensure plants have the individual requirements they need to thrive.

This is calculated at £30 per sqm of planting space.

A labelled 2D plan view using software called Shoot which displays the plants as circles and their eventual managed size in relation to others.
A grid view of the plant, with photo and name.
Plant list with information about them.
A plant schedule showing the number of each plant in the plan and suggested plant pot size to order.
Lighting design
If you require advice and suggestions for lighting your garden, a plan drawing is essential to give to a landscaper and electrian so that cables are put in BEFORE the hard landscaping is done.

Construction drawings
Some elements in the final garden design will need technical drawings to communicate to the landscaper the intent of the design.

Bespoke pergolas and other structures.
Water features.
Project Monitoring and contract administration
If required I can stay involved during the building of your garden. This is subject to a design specification document and landscaper plans being completed and signed off.

There are two levels of involvement I can offer when the garden is being built.
Landscaper contract WITH consultation: Simply put...the designer speaks directly to the landscaper and inspects the project and visits the site at agreed intervals. The client does not instruct the landscaper.
Landscaper contract WITHOUT consultation. The designer only gives advice directly to the client, the client speaks directly to the landscaper, and the designer does not inspect the project.
Each option is subject to different fees and can be quoted and agreed upon at a later date.

Design Specification and Landscaper drawings
The detail design phase for a landscaper of ‘how’ to build the garden and is the basis for generating quotes from landscapers.

From £350. Bespoke fee dependent on the complexity of the project.

The Specification document is a written description of the requirements to build the garden and details the quality of workmanship, materials, and plants required.
The setting out plan is to scale and in 2D and provides the necessary detail a landscaper needs for setting out and building the garden.
